If you are looking for a home you plan to stay in, the neighborhood matters as much as the house. A festival or a parade is a good way to see a place when it is busy, at the time of day you would actually be there. Here are six events with confirmed dates, and what to notice at each.

A scouting checklist for any evening out
- Drive it like a weekday. Take the route you would use to work, at the time you would drive it.
- Walk two blocks in each direction. Look at the streets, the trees, the lighting and the sound level.
- Check parking and traffic on a busy night, since that is when it is hardest.
- Talk to a neighbor. Ask what they would change and what they would never change.
- Write down three notes. They will tell you what to filter for when you search.
Looking ahead, not just at this month
A home you plan to keep is a long-term decision, so it helps to think about how your needs may change: more space, less space, a shorter commute, a quieter street. Rudy can walk through how to weigh those, with no pressure and no pushing toward any one area.
Ready to start narrowing it down? Rudy would be glad to talk it through. The four-question Home Strategy Quiz takes about a minute, and he will follow up personally.
Dates and times were checked on the organizers’ and cities’ own pages on October 3, 2026. Events can change or sell out, so open the linked page before you head out. This site is not affiliated with any event listed here.
